A thought experiment against materialism? 🤔...

.
There are several different versions of Mary’s red thought experiment. Here’s an questioning the philosophical concept of materialism...
.
Scientific Materialism is the exclusive belief in a physical universe, with no supernatural, or spiritual dimensions in existence. The Mary’s Red thought experiment challenges this assertion on the grounds that knowledge of what the color red looks like appears to be a fact of the universe that is immaterial, a none physical fact....
.
Here’s the experiment...
.
Mary is a colorblind Neuroscientist who is unable to see red due to a specific neurological impairment within her brain. However she happens to learn all of the physical facts about the brain, how it works, processes information, even how it creates consciousness including how it physically processes and produces red phenomena.
.
One day Mary develops a cure for her brain impairment, and undergoes an operation to repair the maladaptive nervous tissue within her brain. Hours later Mary awakes from her anesthetized state and sees red for the first time, proclaiming "Ah that’s what red looks like!"
.
Has Mary learned something new about the brain?
.
A nonphysical fact of neuroscience and reality that she could not have learned regardless of her knowledge relating to physical brain processes?
.
Does the brain create or connect with a nonphysical aspect of reality?
